The winger, who returned to Ulster this season after spells with Doncaster and Bristol Rugby, said: “I want to wish Larne good luck in the Gordon West Cup final at Ravenhill .

“It will be another tightly-fought contest between them and Holywood, as have the other three games this season. I’m sure the added bit of fire in the Larne team who have been pipped to promotion by Holywood will see them through on this occasion.

“For those who played in the final (against Letterkenny) a few years back, they will know what the occasion is all about, and to the newcomers in the team I’d say enjoy it. It’s great opportunity to win in the redeveloped Ravenhill.”

He added: “It’s always good to see the club doing well and being successful, I owe a lot to Larne Rugby Club. That’s where it all started for me in Mini Rugby.

“Although I’m not about the club much, as I’m usually playing for Ballynahinch on a Saturday afternoon, I still keep tabs on the boys and still have good friends playing.

“Throughout the season, when the opportunity presented itself, or I’ve been asked to come down and coach, I’ve really enjoy it.

“As much as the boys enjoy a laugh off the pitch, they work hard for each other on it, and that’s not something that comes so easily to other teams.

“So, again, best of luck boys, bring back some deserved silverware this season!”
