Toon denied win by Loreto

Ballymoney v Loreto 3-3

Ballymoney went into this game knowing that to qualify for the All Play Offs then nothing short of a victory with two clear goals was needed.

Money started the game well and in the seventh minute were awarded the first short corner of the game which was neatly turned into a goal by Jessica Lynch with a deflection past the keeper.

The second corner of the game was awarded to Loreto in the 11th minute of the game. A good stop by Platt was pounched on by Cathy McKean and was slammed into the goal via Katie Mullan’s small finger which later required stitches.

The remainder of the quarter was played at full pace with both teams unwilling to give an inch.

The second quarter saw Loreto take the game deep into the Money half and a cross from Ali Meeke was deflected into the air from a Money stick and was batted into goal from Hannah Matthew

The 3rd quarter saw two more goals scored - one a piece for both teams. In the 48th minute Loreto battled into the circle and and eventually found the net via McGirr at the back post.

Money were quick to reply and one minute later Jessica Lynch flicked the ball past Healy in the Loreto nets. Ballymoney won a futher two short corners in the quarter but failed to convert.

With Money trailing as they went into the final quarter they threw all they had into the game and in the 62nd minute of the game Jessica Lynch got her hat trick of the game again flicking past Healy.

The remainder of the game saw Money push for the winner and they came close on a few occasions but it was not to be.
