SOCCER: Pattison double helps Moyola win at the Corner

MOYOLA travelled to Antrim on Saturday to take on Chimney Corner seeking to get back on track after last weeks defeat to Dundela.

The visitors had the first effort on goal in the 10th minute when great work from new signing Okai-Kwai on the left found Loughins, however his shot was tipped over by Agnew in the home goal.

Chimney Corner took the lead in the 13th minute when McIntyre hit an unstoppable shot from 20 yards into the top corner past the stranded Dickey.

Moyola had the next chance in the 20th minute when Pattison found Shimmon and is resulting shot went wide of Agnew in the home goal. The Corner's McIntyre tried his luck again from long range in the 31st minute; however his shot went over the bar.

Shimmon then had two chances in quick succession for the visitors however his first shot was straight at Agnew and his second was a free header which sailed wide following a cross from Stewart on the left.

Moyola got a deserved equaliser in the 42nd minute when a corner from Pattison on the left sailed straight in over Agnew in the home goal.

Pattison then doubled his tally on the stroke of half time when his free kick on the right went straight in over the head of Agnew.

Moyola started the second half off the same as they had finished the first and extended their lead in the 52nd minute when Shimmon picked the ball up on the edge of the box and turned and fired past Agnew.

Shimmon had a chance to score his second in the 62nd minute however his shot following a long ball over the home defence was saved by Agnew.

Moyola extended their lead in the 65th minute when a cross by Shimmon on the left was tapped in by new signing Okai-Kwai. Moyola manager Billy Clarke made a change in the 75th minute with Madden replacing Ferguson and then a second change in the 82nd minute with Morrow replacing the injured Okai-Kwai.

Chimney Corner should have got a second goal in the 86th minute when a shot from J Nutter came back off the cross bar, however Dodds amazingly headed over the bar from just two yards out. The Corner however got a second goal in the last minute when Allen fired home from close range.

This was a good three points for the visitors after last weeks defeat, however next Saturday will prove a sterner test when Moyola travel to the North West to take on ex-player Oran Kearney's Limavady United in the semi final of the Craig Memorial North West Cup.
