The Larne man, along with Ina McColm, basically run the club between them and with help from friends have donated thousands of pounds to the NW200 over the years. But all that could be coming to an end.

“The danger is that our cry for help may not ring so sharp in people’s ears as, once again, there has been a further decline in membership and as a consequence the committee, consisting of the two of us had considered pulling the plug on its association with the event,” revealed Lauritis.

Despite the many frustrations, the duo have been persuaded to do battle for another year and try their best to raise funds for their beloved race.

Last year they donated over £16,000 and they are appealing to the fans to dig a little deeper to keep the NW200 Supporters’ Club alive. The cost of the club membership is £10 for which members receive a lapel badge, car sticker and fixture list. The race package which includes club membership, plus race programme and paddock pass to cover race week, remains at £35.
