Monthly medal for Jack in Castlerock

ELEVEN handicapper Jack Allen carded a net 68 on Saturday in very difficult conditions on the Mussenden links at Castlerock Golf Club.

The standard scratch score went up two shots showing the influence of the strong winds. Jack was only one shot away from Peter Kilburn (10) who carded a one over gross on the back nine.

A further three shots back was Darren Mornin (11 now 10) who posted a one under par net 72 to win the low section. The high section was again taken by Ronnie Moore who returned a net 73. Ronnie was playing off 19 and is now down one shot to 18.

David Turner carded a 74 playing off two to claim the gross prize. An excellent score under the conditions.

Roy Deans added the day’s best seniors prize to his March win in the Saturday Stableford with a net 78.
