A well-known bowler has died in his 96th year and there was a large attendance at his funeral service in St Colman’s Parish Church, Dunmurry.

Joe Turner was a member of his church club for over 40 years and was the current vice-president.

He was also a member of Hilden Bowling Club for around 40 years and a past captain of the club. Two years ago Joe was made an honorary member of the club.

All local bowlers will join with the members of the two clubs he formerly played for to express sincere condolences to the family circle and particularly his son, Brian, and daughters, Marion and Joan.
