Mixed fortunes for teams
THERE was quite a lot of team golf in the past number of weeks at Lurgan and the club had mixed fortunes in this area.
The Fred Daly team stormed into the next round with an excellent result over Bangor. However the Jimmy Bruen team found Farnham Castle Estate a daunting task. They had a team effort of 379. The leading four qualifiers were Tandragee (342), Warrenpoint (349), Mannan Castle (352), Cavan (358).
The ladies entered the Senior Cup for the first time and were rather unlucky to lose out to Belvoir Park in a tie break. They will be a force in the coming years with all the young talent emerging. The Ladies Challenge Cup team advanced to the next round with a quality win over Cliftonville.
