Lisburn girls hand out awards at prize-giving

Lady Captain Margaret Boyd with the winners and sponsors at the recent Prize Night in Lisburn Golf Club.

After an enjoyable meal in The Greenview restaurant, Lady Captain Margaret Boyd congratulated all the prize-winners and thanked the sponsors for their continued support.

The Boyd Plate Stableford

This competition was sponsored by former ladies captain Dorothy Boyd and the prizes were presented by her son William.

Section A: 1st R Leech (36pts), 2nd C McCullough (36pts), 3rd M Markey (35pts)

Section B: 1st C Logan (36pts), 2nd J Wightman (33pts), 3rd D Jones (33pts)

The best gross was won by M Rosbotham and T Neville won the 9-hole competition.

The Peggy Nelson Qualifying Stableford

Section A (0-15 handicap): J Robinson (30pts)

Section B (16-24handicap): C McCullough (34pts)

Section C (25-36 handicap): J Walker (37pts)

Julie, Christine and Janet will represent Lisburn in the final to be played at Dunmurry GC in July.

The best gross was won by H Bradley and T Neville again won the 9-hole competition. Prizes were presented by sponsors V Browne, C Logan and E Mashall.

1st H Brown (37pts), 2nd J Hall (34pts), 3rd L MacDonnell (32pts)

V Rooney scored the best gross and P Magill won the 9-hole competition.

This annual competition, sponsored by Beth Kee, is always well supported by the club members and raised over £430 for breast cancer.
