Golf: Large numbers out in force at Open Week
Sunday’s Pauls Butchers sponsored Stableford again attracted a large entry with the low handicappers dominating the prize list.
Four handicapper Scott Kennedy produced another excellent two under par round for a 42 points winning total.

Hide AdMonday’s Different Class Mens Wear brought the number of cards taken out over the first three days close to 320 with the competition being dominated by the category one players after Scott Kennedy continued with his rich vein of form producing a level par round for a 39 points winning total after a break of tie with Stephen Martin after his two under par round matched the winners total.
Foyle’s Open Week came to a conclusion on Saturday after what was another very successful Week of Competitions with all competitions having big entries with the exception being Friday’s competition which had a low turnout because of the inclement weather and everyone at Foyle would like to extend a very big thank you to all the sponsors without who’s very generous contributions the week of competitions would not be possible.
Damien Ball claimed the City Hotel Open seeing off Michael Henry; the McCartney & Co Accountants Open was won by Cyril Ming with Greencastle’s Basil Kyle securing second spot. David Hudson won the First Trust Bank Open.
Today (Wednesday) the Stableford and Wednesday Meal Deal is down for decision, while Friday sees the Desmond Motors Open, Saturday sees the anniversary open sponsored by Cable & Accessories, while the clubs stableford competition will be staged on Sunday.
