Bill triumphs in July Medal contest
The July Medal stroke competition was played at Rockmount on Sunday July 7 and Monday July 8. Bill Wilson (13) with a gross 81 and nett 68 had the best score over the two days. The lowest gross score was by 3 handicapper Jonny Patterson who had a two over par 74.
On Tuesday July 9 the Fred Daly Plate team entertained Bangor at Rockmount for the second leg. The team put up a great battle and there was a glimmer of hope but the Bangor team came through victorious after Rockmount‘s Reece McKeown was defeated and another match was dormie. The Fred Daly Memorial Trust stableford competition on Saturday July 13 was well supported. Danny Montgomery (12) was first with 44pts beating Garry Adair (13) into second place. On Sunday July 14 the Junior Cowdy team travelled to Royal County Down for the first leg of their fourth round match. Led by Tom Sloan the team performed admirably but lost 3-1.
