Giro di Glen helps NI Children’s Hospice

Ruairi Boylan, of Agivey Cycling Club said, “We are absolutely thrilled with this year’s event; the success of the 2015 race has highlighted we are going from strength to strength each year. It is great to have more people getting involved in all the fun, especially since it is for such a great cause.

“As a result of the amazing turnout this year has meant we were able to raise a fabulous £500 for Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. We were very proud to be able to present NI Children’s Hospice with these monies and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in the race and contributed to the final amount raised, their help will undoubtedly benefit the charity and the great work of the Hospice.”

The event started from the Glenullin Community Centre, Garvagh, and there were three routes on offer for keen cyclists, a 35-mile route, an 80-mile route, and new to this year’s event, a 50-mile route.

Chris Fillis, of RiverRidge Recycling, said: “This was a great event and we were only too happy to support this local Club. Congratulations to Ruairi and the team at the Agivey Cycling Club for their hard work in organising such a brilliant and challenging event, and for the monies raised for NI Children’s Hospice.”

Eva Toal, of NI Children’s Hospice, said, “I want to say a huge thank you to all the Giro di Glen organisers and each and every cyclist who took part in this year’s race.”
