Rangers out to cause an upset at Seaview

Carrick Rangers take on Crusdaers this afternoon in their first ‘home’ game of the season.

The game will be played at Seaview, thanks to a groundshare agreement between the two clubs while a 3G surface is installed at Taylor’s Avenue.

Rangers will be hoping to build on Saturday’s strong showing against Cliftonville and boss Stephen Small has a few more options to choose from with new faces Maros Valko and former Loughgall player Andy Smith signing up. Also back in contention are centre-back Michael McClean and hard-working midfielder Ryan Deans.

“We will be hoping to do better on Saturday,” boss Small told the Carrick Times. “Crusaders were probably the second best team in the country last season.

“That the element of shock and surprise won’t be as acute as last weekend is fair enough, but we still want to cause an upset.”

Today’s game kicks off at 3pm.
