Local girls receive NI Caps
Attended by over 90 people, cap presentations were made to players from the Northern Ireland senior women’s squad, including Lisburn girls Annie Timoney and Jessica Poots, as well as the Under-19 and Under-17 women’s teams and the Under-15 schoolgirls’ squad. The presentations were made by David Healy and MLA Michelle McIlveen and MC for the event was Cool FM’s Pete Snodden.
National Women’s Coach, Alfie Wylie paid tribute to the dedication, commitment and enthusiasm of all the players: “The girls have made great sacrifices to play for their country, dedicating themselves to their teams and travelling the world with Northern Ireland; combining their education and work with training and playing for their country. I would like to thank them for their commitment and dedication – all the players are role models and it is great to see the Irish Football Association recognising them through a special caps presentation evening.”
