Hanover hit by setback on the road

Hanover let slip a chance to close the gap on the unbeaten Intermediate A league leaders with a penalty miss before Newry City AFC scored a last-gasp equaliser.

Newry enjoyed the upper hand across the first half but both sides entered the interval on level terms.

Hanover’s aggressive approach to the second half was rewarded when Scott McCullough slipped past a string of Newry challenges before racing down the right and delivering a cross converted by Justin Bradley.

However, Newry hit back before full-time.
