First Irish cap for Steven, who will play alongside his brother

Steven Kirkwood has won his first Irish Indoor International bowls cap and will play second with brother, Robert third on the same rink in the under-25 Home International Series at County Antrim Stadium last weekend.

Steven and Robert both play at Belfast Indoor Bowls Stadium and outdoor their club is Hilden.

Another Belfast club member, George Carson, is also on the team and he plays outdoor at Lisnagarvey.

Priesthill Methodist took a step to safety when they beat Hilden by 20 shots and took five points in Section A of the Roy Kennedy Fuels Indoor Bowling League.
