Fancy being an Umpire?

Derriaghy Cricket Club are hosting an information session on the rules of cricket and umpiring in their clubhouse on Tuesday 15 April at 7pm.

This session is open to anyone who has an interest in learning more on the rules of the game or who is maybe even thinking about taking up umpiring in the local game as the season prepares to get underway.

Alan Neill, who is a training officer with the NI Umpires Association, will lead the session which will last about two hours.

Players (aged over 12), coaches, parents, teachers and anyone with an interest in cricket is very welcome to attend the evening.

Derriaghy Cricket Club are also keen to attract new young members. The club’s youth registration evening will be held on Monday (7 April) from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the clubhouse.

Forms and registration fees will be collected on the night and details will be issued regarding outdoor training, which is due to start on Monday 28 April, after the Easter holiday break.

Existing and new members will be made most welcome to the registration evening.
