Ellen does Earlview proud in cross country qualifier

Earlview Primary School pupil Ellen Montgomery has qualified for the Northern Ireland Schools' cross country finals.

She finished fourth overall in County Antrim after running three rounds of races across the county.

It’s an even greater achievement given fact she is only P6 - a full year younger than most runners.

Her sister, Grace (P7), was unlucky to narrowly miss out on qualification with an eighth-place finish overall.

The girls started running when Ellen was five and Grace was six, taking part in 5k parkruns.

Ellen will be competing in the Northern Ireland Schools’ Cross Country Final on February 10 at Mallusk Playing Fields.
