Cricket: Foyle College seeded in cup draw

Foyle College are one of five seeded sides who have received a bye into the second round of this year’s Ulster Bank Schools Cup, where they will be at home to either Antrim Grammar School or Friends School, Lisburn.

As last year’s runners up, Foyle will be the only one of the four North West schools taking part to be seeded.

In the first round, Strabane Academy and Coleraine Academical Institution will host Carrickfergus Grammar and Down High School respectively while Limavady will travel to Belfast to take on the Campbell College 2nd XI.

The first round is scheduled to be completed by April 29 and the full draw is: A Strabane Academy v Carrickfergus Grammar School; B Sullivan Upper School v Larne Grammar School; C Antrim Grammar School v Friends’ School Lisburn; D Royal School Armagh v Bangor Grammar School; E Grosvenor Grammar School v Belfast High School; F Coleraine Academical Inst. v Down High School; G Methodist College Belfast v RBAI 2nd XI; H Portora Royal School v Royal School Dungannon; I Campbell College 2nd XI v Limavady Grammar School; J Ballymena Academy v Ballyclare High School and K Regent House School v Lurgan College

The draw for the second round has also been made and is as follows: Wallace High School v Winner of Match A; Winner of Match B v Campbell College; Foyle College v Winner of Match C; Winner of Match D v Winner of Match E; Winner of Match F v Winner of Match G; Winner of Match H v Winner of Match I; Belfast Royal Academy v Winner of Match J and Winner of Match K v RBAI.

Ties are to be played by May 13.
