Change of look in new kits

GLENAVON will begin the new season with a fresh look as both home and away kits change.

The home kit will be a royal blue shirt with a collar and white flashes down the sides.

However, one major change will be the blue shorts and white socks on the home kit as opposed to the normal white shorts and blue socks.

The away kit will also be a break from the norm; a yellow shirt with black flashes on the side.

“They’re very different from last year and hopefully it will help to give the place a lift,” said director Ian Irwin.

Well-known supporter Ian McKinney is pleased with the design but was less than thrilled with the news of the change to the colour of the home shorts.

He said: “I'm afraid I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to our kits. If it was up to me, we'd line out in blue shirts, white shorts, blue socks at home and the opposite away.

“I know it's only the colour of a pair of shorts and it's being a bit fussy, but I really don't like the look of our team if they are all blue. We are Marty Quinn's blue and white army, not Marty Quinn's blue and blue army.

The kits will be on sale from the club shop for the beginning of the Carling Premiership season on Saturday, August 7, and will be 5 cheaper than last season at 35 for adult shirts and 30 for junior shirts.
