Captain's call to arms
As a spectacle the televised showcase final has come on in leaps and bounds since its switch to a Saturday with plenty happening on the pitch before the match and at half-time, but the main event is a potentially classic encounter between free-scoring Coleraine and Premier League champions.
Extra spice is added with Rory Patterson coming up against the club he will join in the summer, and it’s an early Cup Final baptism for newly appointed Glens boss Scott Young.

Hide AdTolan said: “It’s our first League Cup final for some time and you sense the interest building in the town, we expect a good following but it would be great to see if we can get 3,000 plus fans cheering us on.
“I would say to any occasional supporter, please buy a ticket and support us on the day, it could make all the difference and hopefully we will reward that support by bringing The Co-operative Insurance Cup back to Coleraine”.
Colin Nixon who takes the captain’s armband for Glentoran following Paul Leeman’s injury, said, “It’s been an up and down season but this is a real chance to put that behind us and lift the Co-operative Insurance Cup once more.
“It’s one of the highpoints of the domestic calendar and we know there will be a big following from Coleraine so we would ask all our supporters to buy a ticket and come to Windsor Park and help create a fantastic atmosphere”.
