The cream of local talent took on a strong English team in what delivered 12 pulsating bouts that had the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout.

The local lads defeated the English 8-2, but in fairness to them there was nothing in any of the contests on a very evenly matched bill.

Lewis Napier was involved in a thriller edging a majority decision. Seamus Mcalister of Scorpion put in a master class to outbox Areeb Cheema in a great contest,

Dillon Doherty lost a narrow decision to a good opponent and his brother Ryan took on Chris Windle the national schoolboys Champion in entertaining exhibition bout.

Seniors Paul Donnelly and ulster champ Karol Dlugosz took on Harringay Cup champions Nathan Cawood and Declan Spellman in two very hard fought contests, which had the crowd enthralled from start to finish. But undoubtedly the contest of the night was the Heavyweight bout.

Both boxers landed bombs from the start and at the end of the first simon looked to be out on his feet but the second Simon came out all guns blazing and started catching his English opponent with more combinations it was all down to the last round of this seesaw contest.

Big Simon wasn’t to be denied and he came on strong in the final round to clinch a majority decision and send the crowd home happy.

Scorpion and Churchlands Golden Gloves would like to thank all the sponsors who helped the event:
