Baxter sets ‘pb’ at Walled City Marathon

On a day of high winds and heavy rain, running conditions were unpredictable for the 26.2-mile race.

First home for the club was David Noble in 65th position (3:12:55), while Heather Baxter set a personal best (3:48:19, 349th). Dominic Watt timed 4:02:27 to claim 539th place.

In Sunday’s Leinster Outdoors T&F 2015, U23, Seniors & Masters Championships at Tullamore, Larne’s Rhonda Brady battled it out on the track in the FV40 and 45 heat for the 200m. She ran an outdoor personal best 30.35, taking fourth overall and second in her category.

In the FV35&40 heat, Brady took third overall which was also 3rd FV40 (1:09.14).

On Saturday morning, Andy Gregg took part in the Belfast Hills 8.8km race over a tough course on tracks and paths around Cave Hill Country Park. Andy finished in 19th place overall in a time of 38:22.

Four Larne AC members, Lorraine Wharry, Rey Magill, Shiree McCosh-Brennan and Kirsten Montgomery, along with Jamie Wilson, ran part in the Pretty Muddy 5k at Ormeau Park, Belfast.

This was a run with a difference and the runners made our way through an assault course of mud, rollers, cargo nets, walls and slides but all for a great cause - Cancer Research UK.

Bryan Magee ran Thursday’s Loughshannagh Horseshoe race, one of the longest in the Hill and Dale Series, covering the four peaks of Carn, Doan, Loughshannagh and Ott. Magee finished 43rd, in a time of 51:47.

John Neill continued to show good form, finishing fifth in 19:51 at round two of the East Antrim Harriers Trail Series last Tuesday evening.

Martin Agnew was just behind in eighth (20.04), followed by Martan Keane (9th, 20:16), Andy Gregg, (15th, 21:11), Nigel Kane, 21st (21:39) and Stuart Maxwell, 47th (24.17). Juliane Keane was first Larne AC lady home in 25:44 (66th).
