Archers have a egg-cellent time at the Ballyvally Easter Bunny shoot

Last Wednesday night saw Ballyvally’s annual Easter Bunny shoot and a large turnout of 70-80 archers had a good night in Banbridge Leisure Centre.

OVERALL RESULTS

In the Under 10s cubs class the overall best scores were shot by Alex King and Cain Whelan.

In the Under 13 minor classes the top scores were shot by Toya Wilson and Aidan Heaney while the overall winners in the Under 18s were Madison Foster and Tom Mehaffey.

In the Senior less experienced class, the top scores were shot by Claire Fawcett and Matthew Nesbitt while Valerie Sleith and Jack Szaszkrewicz shot the top scores in the more experienced Senior classes.

WINNING TEAMS

The top family team was composed of John Foster and daughter Madison, closely followed by the Heaney Family (father Kevin and son Aidan), the McMaths (Norman and granddaughter Eden) and the Barlows (mother Elaine and daughter Taylor).

The top junior team was composed of Joel Bell, Bryn Wilson and Jake Walsh followed by the team of Davyd Wilson, Caelan Lennon and Tom Mehaffey.

KNOCK-OUT WINNERS

At the end of the main shoot while registration was calculating scores, all archers took part in a knock-out.

Winners in the Cubs section were Eleanor Walsh and Ben Martin (Under 10s] ), Jami Wilson and Davyd Wilson (Under 13s) and Tom Mehaffey (Under 18s).

Senior winners were Elaine Barlow and Marion Patterson (ladies section) and Matthew Nesbitt and Gary Corbett (gents section).

Dean Hamilton won the section for sighted archers. And Jack Szaszkrewicz won the longbow section.

LADY PARAMOUNT’S PRIZES

Lady Paramount’s prizes (for concentration and safety on the shooting line as well as being helpful at the shoot and appropriately dressed for an Easter Bunny shoot) were awarded to Tom King, Leon Wilson, Lauris McCarthy, Tom Mehaffey, Alex King, Toya Wilson, Helen Houston, Katie Jennings, Jami Wilson, Ben Martin, and Zack Kelly.

Zack, aged five years, also got the chairman’s award for good shooting and being still awake at 9.30pm!
