Academy U15s to begin Cup campaign against Cookstown

Banbridge Academy’s U15 Boys will make the long trip to Coolnafranky Road to face Cookstown HS in the first round of the Richardson Cup on Thursday.

Coach Miskelly should have a full squad to choose from for the game that starts at 2.30pm.

The Academy will be hoping to have Dylan Cowan possibly in time for the crucial fixture but should he not make it, the back four of McMurray, Peacock, Groves and McConnell will be up for the battle. The 15s are one to watch as on their day they can be devastating with Campbell, Liggett, McConnell, Jordan and Graham all able to score at will.

The opposition will be finely tuned in on Rowe and he will do well to impact the game from set pieces. The depth of Armstrong, Wilkins, Young and Mintonette all reflect well on Coach Miskelly’s work. The team will rely on Luke Roleston in goal to continue his outstanding season and be vocal throughout.

The boys enjoyed a cracking start to the season but with opposition drying up in recent weeks, they have used training games away to Lurgan and Ballyclare as building blocks to prepare.

The winners of this tie will set up a home game against Royal and Prior.
