A home win for Bann Valley

THE latest round of Bann Valley Road Club's AWT Refrigeration sponsored ten mile time trial league took place on the Kilrea Road on Tuesday 11th May.

The 16 competitors had to face an extremely strong head wind for the long out leg of the event, only getting some relief from the buffeting wind at the turn in Kilrea. It was then a matter of riding as hard possible to regain some of the time lost on the way out.

To this end John McElderry of Bann Valley Road Club performed best when he just piped East Tyrone’s Robert Stewart by one second 24 mins 33 seconds to 24.34 to take the win. Third place was secured by the home club’s Martin Robb in a time of 25.12.
