Old Portadown stories turned into exhibition

ART EXHIBITION INSPIRED BY THE STORIES OF PORTADOWN IS LAUNCHED...Pictured at the launch of the 'This Place' Exhibition are Dr Riann Coulter from Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council, Exhibiting Artist, Amanda Coogan and Hazel Boland and Jackie Barker from Millenium Court Arts Centre. 

 

'This Place' runs from Saturday 18th January until Wednesday 4th March in the Millennium Court Arts Centre in Portadown and is inspired by the stories and memories of older adults living in the area and reveals how local history and the natural environment can be utilised to untap creativity and promote wellbeing. The exhibition is the culmination of two three-month residencies by renowned artists, Amanda Coogan and Tonya McMullan. Both artists have researched and developed new work based on the memories and reflections of older adults living in rural communities in and around Portadown as well as people’s connection with their local environment and wildlife.
