Brainchild of Mrs Alyson Reid, director of the ‘Voice of Hope’ choir, ‘Raise the Roof’ has taken it’s first journey, with singing stop off’s en-route to Antrim, in it’s unmissable, brightly coloured transport.

“We are absolutely thrilled with our gift from a private donor - it’s a dream come true - as it enables us to reach all Ireland and bring our music to everyone, and help raise funds to build a children’s school in Uganda,” she said.

Twinned with the ‘Imani’ youth choir in Uganda, ‘Raise the Roof’s’ vision is to build a seven classroom school in Uganda and provide much needed facilities for vulnerable African children by offering them an education.

Alyson commented; “Our music is a fusion of the rich pulsing rhythms of Africa combined with the vibrant melodies of our own country and sung by our amazing children who come from all backgrounds and denominations in the spirit of friendship and love. We believe in the power of music to bring out the best in everyone,” she added.

The choir hope to invite the ‘Imani’ youth choir over to Northern Ireland to tour with them and help in their fund raising initiatives.
