VIDEO: Garth Brooks fans queue overnight in Larne for concert tickets

The country singer is performing two dates in Croke Park, Dublin, as part of his worldwide comeback tour.

And die-hard fans from across the province arrived in Larne on Wednesday afternoon to begin queuing for tickets, which went on sale at 9am on Thursday morning.

While some of the punters travelled from nearby towns such as Ballyclare and Carrickfergus, others trekked from as far as Sion Mills and Cookstown.

The queue started forming outside Sounds Good Music on Dunluce Street on Wednesday afternoon, with many fans camping overnight in bitterly cold conditions.

To keep their spirits up during the long wait, the crowd sang along to their favourite Brook’s tunes, while a local taxi company provided much-appreciated cups of tea and coffee.

When 9am on Thursday morning finally arrived, security guards began letting people in one at a time to make their purchases.

And as each person emerged from the shop, their delight was clear for all to see; with some even in tears at having got their hands on tickets.

Within 90 minutes, outlets had sold out of tickets for the two concerts on July 25 and 26, but Aiken promotions added a third date to cope with the high demand.

Brooks last played in Croke Park in 1997.
