The Ulster-Scots Agency approached Larne Borough Council to enquire if interpretation panels could be included at the upcoming tourist attraction.

The Agency offered £20,000 funding towards the project.

Council agreed that the panels could be installed, provided they did not impact negatively on the local authority’s work.

Stone interpretation panels are to be erected on the cliff top path, and a panel is also to be installed at the visitors’ centre in Islandmagee.

To ensure uniformity with other aspects of the project, the Ulster-Scots Agency agreed to use the designers and manufacturers who worked on the visitors’ centre.

The council will not be managing the project or contributing financially.

The work is due to be completed by the end of March.
