Eddi Reader performs Burns classic in Londonderry

FORMER Fairground Attraction frontwoman and folk star, Eddi Reader, played in Londonderry on Friday (July 19) as part of the Earagail Arts Festival’s Songfest.

Here she’s joined by Altan’s Maireád Ní Mhaonaigh and traditional singers Jackie Oates (England) and Julie Murphy (Wales) on backing duties, for her interpretation of the Robert Burns ballad, My Love is like a Red, Red Rose.

Observant viewers can spot local journalist and fiddler Martin McGinley (second from right), who also performed at the gig.
