Times' readers give new homes to rescue dogs

Allie, a two-year-old Akita, featured in an article in last week’s Larne Times, along with several other furry friends who were all on the look out for new homes.

And the Animal Ark in Carrickfergus, where the dogs where being cared for, was soon inundated with calls from people eager to offer each of the animals a good home.

Karen McIllroy of Animal Ark said: “There was a lot of interest in the dogs after the article appeared in last week’s Larne Times. All of the dogs have now been rehomed, with Allie going to a new owner in Larne.

“It was great to see so many people willing to offer these animals a home. It will also help take some the pressure of us when more unwanted dogs are brought in.”
