Suspicious approach made to young girl in Co Tyrone

Police are investigating reports of a suspicious approach to a young girl in Co Tyrone.

At around 10am on Wednesday, May 13th, Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Deroar Road area of Sixmilecross.

Const. Gareth Kilfedder said: “A young girl was walking in the area when she noticed the lorry and its occupants acting suspiciously. The passenger beckoned to her but she did not approach them.

“The vehicle involved was a red and white low loader type, single axle lorry and the driver is described as in being in his 30’s, short tight cut fair hair, wearing a blue top.

“The passenger is described as approx. 40 years, with missing teeth, tanned complexion, purple Adidas Hooded top with a small white crest on one side of the chest and spoke with a southern Irish accent.

“Did you see anything in the area at this time? If you can help please call the 101 number, quoting reference number 45513515. Alternatively information can be passed via the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
