Storey quizzes Minister on Planning Policy

North Antrim Assembly Member Mervyn Storey has challenged the Environment Minister to make sure this area sees the benefits of any mass changes to planning policy in Northern Ireland.

During an Assembly statement by the Minister Mark H. Durkan, the local MLA asked: ‘Where is the synergy between the area plans, such the northern area plan in my constituency, which has been on the go since 2001?’

Mervyn commented,

“This draft policy consolidates 20 separate policy publications into one document, and brings forward new strategic policy relating to town centres and retailing. Ballymoney is entering into a transformation phase with the proposed Masterplan for town. It is my priority that the development and renewal of Ballymoney is not adversely affected by this policy, and that it will in actual fact assist its economic development.”
