'Stop being a nuisance' - judge tells man

A COLERAINE man has been told to stop being a nuisance to his mother after he was found guilty of behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace.

North Antrim Magistrates' Court heard that Jason Lee Kane (20) of Cuilrath Street, was arrested following an incident outside his mother's house on June 25 this year.

Police answered a call following reports of a man banging on windows and causing a disturbance.

When officers arrived at the address they found the defendant in the front garden of the property. Officers were told that Kane was not welcome at the house as he was under the influence of alcohol.

The defendant was removed from the property but he repeatedly tried to push past officers to gain access to the house despite numerous warnings. He was then arrested.

Defence told the court that Kane has since reconciled with his mother and he hoped that some structure in his life would help keep him out of trouble.

In sentencing Kane to 200 hours community service, District Judge, Mr Richard Wilson, warned the defendant to stop being a nuisance.

"You understand where you'll end up? Don't tempt me to put you there," he said.
