Schools nominated for environmental award

FOUR local schools have been nominated for a leading environmental award.

Coleraine Inst and three schools from Ballymoney, Dalriada, Our Lady of Lourdes and Ballymoney High School are in the running for Best School initiative sponsored by RES UK & Ireland Ltd at the third annual ‘Action Renewables Association Awards Luncheon’.

The awards will be presented at the Banqueting Hall in Belfast City Hall at lunchtime on Wednesday.

The local schools will join fifteen organisations battling it out to win one of the eight highly coveted environmental awards. The schools were nominated after school visits from the experts at Action Renewables.

All eight awards will be judged by an independent panel of experts at Action Renewables.
