Royal honour at palace for Joan

Carrick woman Joan Guiller, originally from Larne, was awarded her BEM medal at Hillsborough Castle recently.

She received the honour for services to the community for her work at St Vincent de Paul’s Clare Lodge holiday home, in Newcastle, from 1994-2003 and with Drop-Inn Ministries Carrickfergus, from 2003.

She has been manageress since this time in the charity’s shop at Cheston Street, and during the last six years, this has been extended to two other shops in West Street.

Joan attended a Buckingham Palace garden party for honours recipients held on Tuesday May 23.
