£225,000 boost in Moyle area

AROUND £225,000 was recouped for clients of the Citizens Advice Bureau in the Moyle area through benefit maximisation in a year, a report prepared for the local council said.

The figures relate to April 2009 - March 2010 when the Causeway Citizens Advice Bureau’s outreach centres in Ballycastle, Bushmills and Cushendall dealt with 924 enquiries.

Of that figure almost 700 related to welfare benefit and another 100 where to do with consumer and debt issues.

Some clients were referred to a Skilled Money Advice Worker funded by the Department of Enterprise Trade and Industry.
