Preserving Islandmagee's rich heritage

At the launch of the new publication - Islandmagee and Templecorran, a postcard history - the main author, Dr Steofan O'Direain said that when he came to live in Islandmagee a number of years ago, he wanted to find out more about the area.

He described compiling the book as a real pleasure and, for anyone taking a closer look at the finished publication, it is clear to see it turned into something of a labour of love. Its publication is the culmination of several years of research, countless interviews and the gathering together of a huge amount of artifacts.

Packed with photographs, old postcards and illustrations, it brings together the memories and memorabilia of the community and preserves them for future generations.
