A man faced a drugs charge last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court after police noticed the smell of cannabis in a car in which he was sitting.

Kenneth George Doolan (25), The Poplars, Donaghcloney, was fined £150 for possession of a class C drug, cannabis, on December 15 last year.

The defendant was one of two occupants in a parked car and he was in the driver’s seat.

A small amount of the drug was found. Doolan admitted possession of the cannabis.

A solicitor for the defendant said he had a previous conviction four years ago and there was nothing else pending.
