Police charge three men with Newmills robbery

Detectives in Dungannon have charged three men in relation to a robbery at a Mace store in Newmills on Wednesday afternoon.

The three men aged 28, 32 and 40 are due to appear in Dungannon Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Friday 8th August).

The 32-year-old man arrested is further charged with three counts of burglary relating to incidents earlier in the year in Dungannon and Armagh.

Police arrested the men following the incident at the newly opened Mace store on the Brackaville Road area when it was reported that two men, one of whom was armed with a hammer and a crowbar, entered a shop and threatened staff before making off with a sum of money.

The two men joined a third man in a black coloured Toyota MR2 car and made off from the area. No staff members were injured.

The 28-year-old man was located and arrested in the Dungannon Road area of Cookstown a short time later. The other men were arrested in the Annahavil Road area of Dungannon following a report of two men attempting to hijack a passing car.
