The new initiative was designed to encourage learning and development through a mix of storytelling, arts, music, multi-sensory and interactive experiences.

This project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Coleraine Museum used Sam Henry’s wonderful archive of songs and stories from the local area to develop a series of workshops to engage with an early year’s audience.

The green class in Kylemore Nursery participated in four workshops in which they discovered new songs, singing games, stories and craft.

Speaking about the performance, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey said: “This project was a great way of introducing the very young to the world of museums.

“I was delighted to be invited along to the children’s performance at Coleraine West Community Centre as it showed the wonderful imaginings, positivity and creativity of our local children.”

Parents and carers along with The Mayor watched the children’s performance at Coleraine West Community Centre.
