The management team at Gillaroo Lodge Nursing Home have once again decided to close to ‘in person’ visits and resume virtual visiting until the risk is deemed to be less significant.

Detailing the development, Managing Director, Liz Rowan said: “This decision was taken with a heavy heart as the nursing home, its staff, residents and their relatives had just enjoyed one of the most upbeat weeks since coronavirus caused the home to close to visitors in March.

She added: “Like all families and businesses, we in Gillaroo Lodge ride the roller coaster that is Covid-19.

“We make plans and we adjust plans. Life is difficult for all – residents, staff, relatives and friends. We look for the good in our situation where we can, and some days it is harder to find

“In the meantime we continue to undergo regular testing (staff every two weeks going forward and residents every four) and we take our responsibilities very seriously, remembering our motto, ‘Your Care is our Concern’ as we offer the best care we can to the 25 dear people who are entrusted to our care.”
