The four-part documentary series starting on January 4 at 7.30pm explores the Glens of Antrim.

Narrated by actor Colin Morgan, the story of the Glens is told through the lives of the people who have made them their home and who work hard to preserve and improve the area.

Filmed over a year, each episode focuses on the unfolding of one season and follows the changes in the beauty of the landscape, from the upland moors to the picturesque villages that hug the rugged coastline.

Viewers are introduced to the estate manager at Glenarm Castle, Adrian Morrow, who grew up in the Glen and whose father worked for the previous Earl of Antrim as a chauffeur. In the run up to Halloween staff on the estate are shown gathering apples to press into juice.

Meanwhile, in Carnlough, Robert and Tiffany McKay, who have embarked on a new venture opening a café and bunkhouse opposite Carnlough Harbour, as well as taking over Robert’s father’s caravan park, share their dreams and goals in a year that proves more difficult than anyone could have predicted.

The series, which will be available on BBC iPlayer, is the third instalment in the Chronicles series, which included Chronicles of Mourne and Chronicles of Erne.
