Pensioners to hold parliament at Mossley Mill

Local councillors have approved plans for a ‘Pensioners Parliament’ to be held at Mossley Mill early next year.

The decision to permit the event to take place on February 19 was made at the Community Planning and Regeneration Committee meeting on Monday, December 14.

The NI Pensioners’ Parliament was launched in 2011 and gives older people a chance to have their say on the issues that matter to them, both at local and regional levels.

The council will provide £1,650 towards the event and the cost of the venue hire has been waived.
