Overall burglaries down

The most recent statistics, which are subject to change, indicate there were 19 reported burglaries in the area in the April 1 2013 - March 24 2014 period.

This was a decrease of 17.4 percent from the same period in the previous year with four fewer victims.

However, police in the Carrick borough are reminding all residents of the importance of securing doors and windows. Resident are being advised to immediately report all suspicious activity on either the new non emergency number 101 or if required on the usual emergency number 999.
