New developments at Irish school

The spokesperson added: “As part of our ongoing growth and development the Department of Education are carrying out a minor works scheme to create a new pedestrian entrance, vehicular entrance and car park.

“The scheme, which is due to start at the end of the month, has come about as a result of the ongoing growth and development of the school.” School Principal, Brídín Ní Dhonnghaile, added: “This minor works scheme is the latest development in the life of our school and will no doubt create a better environment for our preschool and primary school children and their families. This latest scheme will also see our playground extended and after a recent further meeting with the Department only a few weeks ago we are also hopeful that we will be provided with a grass pitch.”

The school spokesperson added: “The number of families attending our school and availing of a bilingual education increases year on year. With plans for our preschool to be the second of Ballycastle’s full time nursery schools this September, we are still being contacted by parents with regard to places. It seems therefore that this latest ground work has come at just the right time.
