Minister Ford was in Coleraine to present Albert Clyde of RDA with a laptop and accessories as their prize for their achievement in the 2014 Justice in the Community Awards.

Albert received the accolade of ‘Justice Champion’ from the Minister at an awards ceremony in Parliament Buildings at the end of last year.

Minister Ford said: “Having had the privilege to meet some of the riders and their families who use this facility and to see for myself the collaborative working between RDA and the criminal justice organisations, the benefits are evident.

“This is truly a great example of our community working together.

“I congratulate RDA Coleraine and all those involved. They should be very proud of the difference they are making.”

He went on: “ The Justice Champions represent the best of the work that goes on daily in our community to support the Justice system.

“These people selflessly give their own time because they have a passion for what they do; they care for the people of our community; and they want to make a difference for the good of our society.

“The Justice in the Community Awards give me the opportunity to highlight this exceptional work that we tend to hear so little about. It is also pleasing to see that the proceeds from assets seized from the hands of criminals has been returned to our community.”
