Mid and East Antrim's attractions filmed for Finnish television show

A Finnish journalist was welcomed to Mid and East Antrim recently by Mayor Councillor Audrey Wales.

Erja Tuomaala, a foreign news correspondent, YLE News, (The Finnish Broadcasting Company) was making a programme about Northern Ireland and its attractions.

The mayor said: “These included the multi-award winning Carnfunnock Country Park, Slemish Mountain - which Erja also visited today - and the internationally famed Gobbins Cliff Path which Erja said she hoped to see on her next visit to the Borough, along, with as many of the other tourist facilities on offer across Mid and East Antrim as possible, such as Carrickfergus Castle. I’m also pleased to report that our visitor rated the people very highly too. She said she could understand why we were named the ‘Happiest Borough’ given the wonderful scenery.”
