Lisburn is set to rock’n’roll

For one night only Market Square in Lisburn City Centre, will be transformed into a massive family-friendly dance party.

On Thursday 17th December from 6pm, this spectacular outdoor event will bring a buzz of activity to the City Centre as Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council host a night of free festive fun for all ages to enjoy.

The event will include; on street entertainment, dance performances, live music, fire dancers and spot prizes to be won.

The recent launch of the new public realm in Lisburn City Centre is certainly a focal point for Christmas activities this year, and rightly so.

The new space in the city centre boasts a state of the art LED glass dance floor which will be the main stage for the big “Rock Around the Christmas Tree” event.

Come along and enjoy an evening of Christmas fun, with glow balloons and glow sticks lighting up the city centre, it will certainly get you in the festive mood. Be entranced by fire eaters and enjoy spectacular street performances accompanied by festive tunes to liven up your evening.

Music will be provided by Cool FM DJ, Andy Baird. No matter where you are in Lisburn, you will want to join in the party!

Alderman Allan Ewart, Chairman of the Economic Development Department in Lisburn & Castlereagh Council said: “This exciting event marks the end of the biggest ever Christmas extravaganza within the council area. Lisburn city centre has hosted an array of free events throughout November and December and has injected fun, festive cheer among the local community.

“We are delighted to have hosted several of these events in the newly opened public realm space, utilising the new interactive dancefloor to bring the city centre alive during the festive season. This is the beginning of an exciting future for Lisburn and Castlereagh with many more great events and initiatives planned for 2016.”
