Latest: Masked man with machete robs Cookstown store

Detectives in Cookstown are appealing for information following the report of a robbery at a store at a retail park in the Orritor Road area last night Monday 15 December.

A masked man, armed with a machete was reported to have entered the premises at around 7.30pm. He threatened staff and made off with a sum of cash, in the direction of Munrush on foot.

He was described as being in his 20’s, around 6’ tall, thin build. He was wearing navy hooded top, grey jogging bottoms and trainers.

Detective Inspector Hazel Reid has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which may assist officers to identify the suspect to contact CID at Cookstown on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
